The new office of the Superintendent of Police, Noklak was officially inaugurated on February 10.

P.Longon, MLA and Chairman, DPDB Noklak, who graced the event as the special guest, considered the inaugural a blessing for the district.

Acknowledging that it is a collective achievement of the district after its   formation, Longon lauded the police department for being the safeguard of the district in maintaining law and order, and further, urged the community to abide by the law.

The MLA, in his speech, highlighted the roles and responsibilitie of various organisations and bodies in the areas, adding that the Police department is entrusted with maintaining law and order, ensuring public safety, and enforcing the rule of law in coordination with civil administration and community stakeholders.

A part of the SP Office building, the conference hall, was officially named the Dr Pritpal Kaur, IPS Conference Hall in honour of Dr Pritpal Kaur, who served as the first Superintendent of Police of Noklak district. She was also conferred the prestigious SKOCH Gold Award under the Police and Safety category for the outstanding work of the Noklak District Police. The award, along with framed displays highlighting key initiatives and achievements undertaken
during her tenure, has been installed inside the conference hall named in her honour.

A dedicatory prayer was conducted by Rev. Hempao Lam, Executive Secretary, Khiamniungan Baptist Churches Association ( KBCA) , Komking.

The inaugural plaque of the office was unveiled by the special guest. Earlier, the program was chaired by Yevikhu Awomi. V Addl. SP Noklak, and vote of thanks by Thipuzhoyi Tunyi, NPS, Sr. Superintendent of Police Noklak.
