Civil works for the much-anticipated New Wokha Deputy Commissioner’s Office Complex has officially begun at the new site, with CAWD Assistant Chief Engineer (ACE), Er Sungtiba Amer leading an inspection of the project on Wednesday. He was accompanied by CAWD officials, administrative officers, engineers, and the contractor.
During the visit, Er Amer expressed satisfaction with the current pace of construction but stressed the importance of maintaining quality and adhering to the stipulated timeline.
“This new DC office complex will be a vital step toward administrative development in the district,” he said.
He urged the contractors to deploy adequate manpower, ensure uninterrupted material supply, and maintain strict quality control. Departmental inspections, he added, play a crucial role in monitoring progress and safeguarding construction standards.
The upcoming complex will feature a G+1 structural design with two basement floors, accommodating multiple administrative departments under a single roof. The work order was issued in June 2025, and the project is expected to be completed within 36 months. It was approved by the State Level Project Monitoring and Implementation Committee (SLPMIC) and is being implemented under the State Earmarked Projects category.

During the inspection, the CAWD team reviewed key structural components of the complex and briefed the administrative heads on the progress and projected timelines.
Earlier in the morning at Tseminyu, CAWD officials inspected several ongoing works, including the new Deputy Commissioner’s Office Complex, the VVPAT strong room of the Election Department, and the flat-type quarters for administrative officers.
The new Tseminyu DC complex—sanctioned under State funding and the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme—had earlier faced delays due to site allocation issues. However, the project is now progressing steadily, officials said.
The building will be a G+2 RCC structure, featuring a 150-seater conference hall, accessible facilities for persons with disabilities (PwDs), and provisions for an elevator.
Meanwhile, in Akuluto under Zunheboto district, the newly completed ADC Office Complex is set for inauguration on Thursday.
The event will be graced by Special Guest Kudecho Khamo, Advisor, CAWD & Taxes, with Kazheto Kinimi, Advisor, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, as Guest of Honour.
The ADC complex is a G+2 building includes PWD-friendly ramps, accessible bathrooms, and a conference hall, marking a significant infrastructural upgrade for the sub-division.
