Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister Yanthungo Patton on Wednesday clarified that the case of illegal transportation of ammunitions to Manipur has not been taken over by the National Investigative Agency (NIA).
He said the state police team was investigating the case and will be submitting its report soon.

“Investigation is on so, when informed we will immediately suspend, we will keep him under suspension,” said Patton on Michael Yanthan, the Armed Branch Inspector, Nagaland Police, who was arrested for his involvement in the trafficking of ammunitions.
Patton said he has given direction to the officer-in-charge of the arms and ammunition store to have two locks, one lock will be with the Officer-in-charge and the other with the inspector, in-charge of the store. “We are going to set up CCTV also,” he added.
Further, on rumours of the ammunitions being sent to Manipur, Patton clarified that all the ammunition which were stolen have been recovered.
