NIELIT Kohima launches Digital Forensics Training Program for Egypt

Kohima: Program promises to be valuable platform for fostering international collaboration in fight against cyber threats

The National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), Kohima, Government of India, launched a Digital Forensics Training Program for students, university lecturers/professors, and government officials from Egypt on 8th July 2024, informed DIPR. The program reflects NIELIT Kohima’s unwavering commitment to strengthening cyber security defences, aligning perfectly with the Government of India’s vision of enhancing national digital security.

The launching program was graced by dignitaries, including Ambassador of Egypt in India, Wael Mohamed Awad Hamed; Charge d’affaires & Deputy Chief of Mission, Cairo, Egypt, Asheesh Gupta; Secretary, MeitY, S. Krishnan; DG, NIELIT, Dr. Madan Mohan Tripathi; Director, ITI Egypt, Dr. Heba Saleh; Director of International Relations, Egyptian Ministry of Communications and IT, Samah Aziz and other senior officials from both countries.

Following a ten-week intensive online training module, participants will have the opportunity to visit NIELIT Kohima for hands-on laboratory experience, equipping them with top-notch cyber security skills. This program promises to be a valuable platform for knowledge exchange and fostering international collaboration in the fight against cyber threats.

Established in 2010, NIELIT Kohima boasts the State’s only advanced digital forensics lab equipped with cutting-edge facilities and a team of experts. The institute’s commitment to advancing digital forensics and cyber security is evident through its comprehensive training programs and robust forensic analysis services, aiding police in Nagaland and other northeastern states in solving cyber-crimes. This new initiative signifies a further step in that direction, offering training to international students under the aegis of NIELIT and MeitY, Government of India.
