Nine students awarded the Yajen Aier Award

The third edition of the Yajen Aier Award ceremony was held on 5 October at Asetkong Mungdang Senden Salang, Kubolong, where nine students and one teacher were recipients of the award.

Organized by the Asetkong Mungdang, the award ceremony for meritorious students was held under the theme ‘Reinvigorating Teaching and Learning’.

A Nungsang Jamir, former president of Asetkong Mungdang, noted that the people of the Asetkong Range have always excelled in education and religion. He urged the youths present to continue to follow in the footsteps of their ancestors with higher aims and aspirations. He further encouraged young students to give their best in competitive civil exams.

Speaking at the ceremony, S Pangyang Ozukum, president of Asetkong Mungdang, declared that from the next academic session, he would sponsor an award for the top-performing high school in the Asetkong Range and lauded teachers in the range for their efforts in guiding the students thereby improving their academic performance.

  • Meyasenla Longkumer, Lima Aier Higher Secondary School, Dimapur
  • Chuba T Aier, St John Higher Secondary Residential School, Dimapur
  • Temjenkala Aier, Northfield Higher Secondary School, Kohima

Ao Subject Topper

  • Temsüyanger Walling, Clark Memorial Higher Secondary School, Impur

Meyimangyang, the teacher of Temsüyanger Walling (Ao subject topper), also received the award during the ceremony.

Three students – Katina (Class 8), Lensen Ozukum (Class 9) and Temsüyanger Walling – from Clark Memorial Higher Secondary School also received the award as best performing students for the academic year 2021-2022 from among the schools in the Asetkong range.
