‘Nino’s Secret Friend’ by Kevi Z Kevichüsa released

“Nino’s Secret Friend’, a story of friendship and true love that brings healing, life and hope, written by Kevi Z Kevichüsa was formally released by Viketuno Rio, Director of The White Owl on August 27 at The White Owl Book Lounge in Chümoukedima.

Speaking at the launch, Viketuno Rio spoke about her special fondness for children’s book because of their simplicity and depth that surpasses one’s expectations. Commending the author’s rare gift for crafting stories that appear effortless, she stated that with the launch of the book, they are celebrating friendship, the gift of creativity and imagination, and the power of storytelling.

She also stated hope that the newly launched children’s book would find its way to many homes, inspiring and bringing hope to countless readers.

Kevi Z Kevichüsa, the author highlighted that the 50-multi-coloured-pages-book has elements of disappointments with some sacrifice and some redemptive justice while impressing upon that maybe stories that inspire and move us are heavily borrowed from the greatest story of all times- “the one that started from the Garden of Eden, the story about love, covenant and relentless pursuit and heartbreak and betrayal and exile, all culminating at Calvary with sacrifice and restoration.”

She also acknowledged PenThrill for adopting her book, for their vision and commitment towards making it so easy for those who want to get published. “Nino’s Secret Friend” is the author’s second book and marks the 110th publication of PenThrill. Her first book, “Nino’s Secret Garden” was published in the year 2021.

Delivering the publisher’s note, Vishü Rita Krocha dwelt on the importance of Naga Children’s Literature as it inspires and also lays the foundation for aspiring writers to start writing about things and stories that are locally relevant. She said that ‘Nino’s Secret Friend’ has provided yet another wonderful privilege for children to grow up reading books that connect them to their Naga roots.

“It’s not only the children who benefit from it but even us as adults, we have a chance to reclaim our lost childhood”, she noted while also wishing the book every success. During the programme, Visasier K gave the welcome note while Alongla P Aier said the dedicatory prayer and Koko Savino presented a special number.
