The Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari today approved and sanctioned funds for three major National Highways in Arunachal Pradesh. The announcement was posted on social media platform, X, formerly Twitter.
A fund of Rs. 2,248.94 crore for the construction of the Lada-Sarli section of NH-913 (Frontier Highway) in Arunachal Pradesh on EPC mode, spanning 105.59 km across Packages 1, 2, 3, & 6 was announced.
In a social media post, Gadari said that this vital project, dedicated to providing a swift communication network for security forces, is poised to stimulate economic activities, fostering reverse migration towards vibrant border areas. Additionally, it established essential road infrastructure, connecting crucial river basins and facilitating the development of numerous hydropower projects in the state ,he added.
Gadkari said this greenfield road holds promise for tourism, catering to sparsely populated areas of Upper Arunachal, and anticipating increased traffic in the future.
The Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways sanctioned Rs 626.92 crore for the construction of package-1, encompassing the Sarli-Huri section of NH-913 (Frontier Highway) in Arunachal Pradesh.
According to Gadkari, this 35 km project, executed on EPC mode in the Kurung Kumey district, aims to ensure seamless and secure traffic flow. Significantly, it establishes year-round connectivity for villages in the region, catalyzing socio-economic development in the hilly areas of the district,he added.

Further, Nitin Gadkari approved Rs 1014.59 Crore for the construction of Kharsang-Miao-Vijaynagar – Gandhigram section of NH-913 (Frontier Highway) in Arunachal Pradesh
Posting on X, Gadkari mentioned that this transformative 61.55 km road, developed on EPC mode, promises enhanced connectivity to border areas, fostering socio-economic development. The Frontier Highway aims to curb migration, encouraging reverse migration towards Arunachal Pradesh’s border regions.
The Union Minister said furthermore, it facilitates the essential road infrastructure needed for connecting significant river basins, catalyzing the development of numerous hydropower projects and promoting tourism in the pristine, sparely populated Upper Arunachal region.
