The Indian Red Cross Society Niuland Branch was launch at DC’s Conference Hall, Niuland on 27th March 2025.
Deputy Commissioner & President of the District Red Cross Society, Niuland Sara S Jamir in her address stated that the launching program which was supposed to be held in 2023 was delayed due to various problems. DC thanked all the team members of the IRCS for making it possible in launching IRCS in the district.
Recalling the tremendous work of the IRCS team during the massive Dimapur flood crisis in 2017, DC said Niuland being the newest district will be looking forward for every possible help from the IRCS in case of any natural calamities / disaster. DC urged all the members of the district IRCS to be responsible and be prepared for any unforeseen disaster in the district.
DC also constituted 11 IRCS members for Niuland District. Akhale V Khamo, General Secretary IRCSN, while delivering her speech as special guest acknowledged the DC and concerned officers for making the launching program a success. She highlighted the emergence and functions of the IRCS and also elaborated on seven unique fundamental principles of the IRCS and works on Red Cross Society in Nagaland.
Earlier welcome address and introductory speech was delivered by Dr. Temsu, CMO Niuland & Dr. R. Rose Chakhesang while Abou Mere, Director Kripa Foundation Nagaland gave a short speech. The program was chaired by Omegali, EAC Niuland.
