The Government of India, under its My Bharat Department (Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports), in coordination with the District Administration, Niuland, has announce to organize a Padayatra on the occasion of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s 150th Birth Anniversary. This nationwide campaign will be conducted in Niuland districts on November 13. The Rally will commence at 6:00 a.m. from Clock Tower and culminate at the Town Hall.

Honouring the Iron Man of India, the Padayatra is a tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s enduring legacy and his pivotal role in unifying the nation. It aims to foster the spirit of national unity, integrity, and social harmony among citizens.

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, India’s first Home Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, assumed office in July 1947. He was entrusted with maintaining internal security, law and order, and integrating more than 560 princely states into the Indian Union—a monumental task that laid the foundation for a united India.

Known as the “Iron Man of India,” Patel’s visionary leadership also led to the establishment of the All India Services, envisioned as the “steel frame” of the nation, ensuring impartial and effective governance. His leadership during the Bardoli Satyagraha and his role in building a cohesive nation remain a guiding light for all Indians.

The Statue of Unity, the world’s tallest statue, stands as a symbol of his dedication to national unity and administrative strength.

On November 11, there would cleanliness drive in the district-wide Swachhata activities. On November 12 there would be Essay and Elocution Competitions on the life and legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and on November 13, District-Level Rally (Padayatra) would be conducted from Clock Tower (6:00 a.m.) to Town Hall, Niuland.

All government officials, NCC cadets, NSS volunteers, youth club members, and the general public have been invited to participate in this Padayatra.
