Niuland DPDB meeting reviews development projects and approves new initiatives

Niuland District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held at Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, Niuland on 14th February, 2025 under the chairmanship of the Minister for PHED and Co-operation and Chairman DPDB, Jacob Zhimomi.

The meeting reviewed the minutes of the previous session and deliberated on the construction of an office building for the Department of Land Resources. Key decisions included the approval for constructing a Multipurpose Indoor Hall at Kuhuboto Town, registration of INNOLI Society at S. Vihuto village, Niuland, and the publication of Niuland Pulse, a magazine detailing district-specific agricultural activities, crops, and fruits. The magazine aims to serve as a reference guide for farmers to enhance production and capitalize on the district’s agricultural potential.

Minister, Jacob Zhimomi called for a comprehensive assessment of Niuland Local Ground for future expansion, tasking the District Sports Officer with submitting a detailed report at the next meeting. Stressing the importance of effective implementation of the Inner Line Permit, the chairman urged all district officers to cooperate for the district’s progress and development.

The Department of Food and Civil Supplies presented an overview of its on-going activities in the district, while the Department of Power is set to present in the next DPDB meeting.
