The Network of Mokokchung District People Living with HIV and AIDS (NMP+) has issued a rejoinder on November 29 on behalf of the District Level Network (DLNs) to put the matter in the “right perspective in the midst of confusion and distorted campaign launched to tarnish the image of NNP+ by some few vested interest Ghost writer.”
According to the rejoinder, the press release by NNP+ is “the voice/Issues of District Level Network (DLN) resulting out of the series of joint meetings with majority of the DLNs and not NNP+ or individual issue”. The rejoinder also claimed that NNP+ had already plan the program with the NSACS at the state level and also the first to have a coordination meeting with DAPCU with regard to world AIDS day 2023. Further, when NNP+ organized the meeting regarding WAD with the DLNs, the rejoinder claimed that majority of the DLNs had decided to organize the WAD independently as the community wanted to take the ownership of their own Program. So NNP+ was compelled to withdraw from the State as well as district level program organized by NSACS, stated by Wapang, President Mokokchung.
“The press release was given with the consensus of the DLNs present during the Virtual meeting and all the DLNs were also informed regarding the issues before the press release and some of the DLNs also condemned the Ghost writer for using the names of their DLNs without their consent,” stated the rejoinder issued by Lucy, President, Dimapur and Wapang, President, Mokokchung.

District Networks present during the WAD State coordination meeting were Zuneheboto, Mokokchung, Wokha, Phek, Peren and Dimapur out of the 9 existing DLNs since some of the DLNs had already planned to organize the WAD program with DAPCU.
“The DLNs members are therefore requested to contact the President of their respective DLNs regarding any confusion or clarification about the press release since NNP+ was only entrusted to give the press release on behalf of the DLNs,” stated the rejoinder. The State level network also informed that Noklak DLN cannot be featured here as it is in the process of organizing and structuring it very soon.
“The World AIDS Day is more than a celebration of the achievements of communities; it is a call to action to enable and support communities in their leadership roles,” remarked Lucy, President Dimapur.
