NNPSGSEF holds executive meeting

An Executive Meeting was organized by the Nagaland National Pension System Government Service Employees Forum (NNPSGSEF) on April, 26 at CIMORB Hotel, Kohima.

The meeting was attended by the Presidents of all the District Units and chaired by Imnasenla Pongener, General Secretary. She stated that the programme was the first of its kind since the Forum’s inception and urged that the attendees proactively participate as it was organized to deliberate on the Plan of Action to work’s towards the objective of “Scrap NPS. Restore OPS.”

Moanungsang Jamir, President stated that the Forum’s fight cannot be fought by the Central Team alone, but with the cooperation of all NPS subscribers led by the District Presidents. He added that the outcome of this programme will decide the Forum’s stance and determine the way forward.

Avizo Nienu, Spokesperson presented figures w.r.t to investment & returns of the pension schemes – NPS, UPS and OPS. He brought up the issue of no-show, non-accountability and non-ownership by many NPS subscribers over the Forum’s cause which is for the benefit for all, that many support programmes from the comfort of their homes.

He reiterated that this fight is not just for a few but it is for all the employees currently covered under NPS and also the future employees.

He asserted that the Forum’s protest & demand are on two grounds; to give 50% of last drawn salary as pension and total money contributed towards NPS should be given back to the employees in full.

Jentinochet Amri, Vice President facilitated the house discussion where the District Unit Presidents took their time to share their views and opinions. The discussion concluded with the attendees agreeing on the finalized Plan of Action.

Adabe Namgi, Finance Secretary urged the Districts to lead their respective teams tirelessly for a unified result and to take ownership of one’s own contribution in the Forum’s objective towards restoration of OPS.
