The Nagaland National Pension System Government Service Employees Forum (NNPSGSEF), Chumoukedima unit organized a powerful NPS Sensitization Program at the DC Conference Hall, Chumoukedima, on August 12, bringing together government employees from across the district in a united stand for pension justice.
The program was chaired by Chumtila Sangtam, General Secretary, NNPSGSEF Chumoukedima Unit, and commenced with inspiring presidential address by Kekhrielenuo Pienyii, President, NNPSGSEF Chumoukedima unit, who urged employees to remain informed, vigilant, and united in safeguarding their future.
The first technical session featured Adabe Namgi, Finance Secretary, NNPSGSEF Central Team, who delivered an in-depth sensitization on the National Pension System (NPS). This was followed by a comprehensive deliberation by Avizo Nienu, President, NNPSGSEF Central Team, covering the NPS, Unified Pension System (UPS), and Old Pension Scheme (OPS) — outlining their structures, advantages, and shortcomings in clear detail.
In his address, Avizo Nienu stressed that while NPS transfers risk onto employees, OPS ensures lifelong financial stability, security, and dignity, UPS, though a compromise, cannot match the proven reliability and protection offered by OPS.
Delivering a motivational message, Sherhinlo Keppen, Information Secretary, NNPSGSEF Chumoukedima Unit, called on all employees to stand shoulder to shoulder in the fight for their rightful pension and to spread awareness among colleagues to strengthen the movement.
The program concluded with closing remarks by the President, NNPSGSEF Chumoukedima unit, followed by the distribution of the Charter of Forum and undertaking, symbolizing the collective commitment of all participants.
With different departments of Chumoukedima District, the event ended with a resounding pledge of full support to the NNPSGSEF movement to scrap the National Pension System and restore the Old Pension Scheme in Nagaland — a movement deeply rooted in fairness, security, and the dignity of public service.
