The Kohima Superintendent of Police, in an order, has declared the Assembly Secretariat Complex and adjoining areas as “Temporary Red Zone” from August 26 to 28 in view of the ensuing Nagaland Legislative Assembly.
It further mentioned that the order has been necessitated in view of the 5th Session of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly, 2024 where there is an urgent need to temporarily prohibit unmanned aircraft system flights.
“Therefore as empowered under Section 24(2) of Ministry of Civil Aviation, Drone Rules 2021 , the undersigned hereby declare the Assembly Secretariat Complex and its adjoining areas within an aerial distance of 1 (one) KM radius as “Temporary Red Zone” with effect from 17:00 hrs of 26/08/2024 to 17:00 hrs of 28/08/2024,” stated the order.

With the declaration of the Temporary Red Zone, another order declared the mentioned areas within an aerial distance of I (one) KM radius as ‘”NO DRONE ZONE” with effect from 17:00 hrs of August 26 to 17:00 hrs of August 28.
“Whereas, as per provision under Rule 49 of Drone Rules 2021, violation of Rule 22 and Rule 27 of Drone Rules 2021 , are cognizable and noncompoundable,” informed the order.
