The Nagaland Olympic Association has on Wednesday posted a photo of the modified emblem of the 3rd North East Games 2024 where the iconic ‘Olympic rings’ have been removed from both the emblem as well as the logo of NOA.

The Association had released the emblem on 4th March 2024 but a day later, the North East Sports Association received directions from Indian Olympic Association to refrain using the word ‘Olympic’ and the Olympic logo due to copyrights and trademark issues.

On Tuesday, the NE Sports Association decided in a meeting to ditch the word ‘Olympic’ from its name and from the name of the region’s biggest sports meet. The ‘Olympic’ associations of all eight States of NE are also expected to be renamed soon.
