The Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) has announced its participation in the global celebration of Olympic Day on June 22 at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima, under the theme “Let’s Move & Celebrate”. This year the event is designed to inspire children aged 6years – 12years, aimed at promoting an active lifestyle, promote sportsmanship and celebrate the Olympic spirit, informed a press release by NOA.
The event will be conducted In various categories as follows:
50 Meters: 6years – Under 8years (Born between 23/06/2016 – 22/06/2018)
80 Meters: 8years – Under 10years (Born between 23/06/2014 – 22/06/2016)
100 Meters: 10years – Under 12years (Born between 23/06/2012 – 22/06/2014)
The NOA has encouraged parents, guardians, schools and sports enthusiasts to actively support and encourage their children’s participation in this event. By joining the Olympic Day Run, young participants will not only engage in physical fitness but also develop lasting friendship and a sense of unity through sports, stated the NOA.
A total cash prize up to Rs 100000/- (One Lakh Only) will be awarded to the winners, along with merit certificate from the Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA). Each participant will also receive certificate from the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
“Registration for the Olympic Day Run 2024 is now open to all young participants aged 6years to 12 years. There is no entry fee. The last date for registration is 17th June 2024,” informed NOA.
