Nokhu Range Public Organization (NRPO) and Nokhu Range Students’ Union (NRSU) have reaffirmed their support to ENPO’s Chenmoho Resolution (23rd February 2024) and the Khiamniungan Tribal Council (30th March 2024) to abstain from participating in any form of electoral process either Central or State.
In a joint statement, NRPO President Thiamo and NRSU President Pongchiu maintained that these resolutions underscore the collective stance of the Eastern Naga community on pressing issues concerning the Frontier Nagaland Territory (FNT).
“This decision reflects the disappointment stemming from perceived unmet promises by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India and underscores the resolve of the Eastern Nagaland People to pursue the legitimate aspirations through peaceful and democratic means”, they stated.
The Organizations also expressed gratitude to the leaders of ENPO for their “sincere and accountable leadership in championing the demand for the Frontier Nagaland Territory (FNT) and their dedication and integrity in advocating for the rightful aspirations of the Eastern People of Nagaland.”
Furthermore, NRPO and NRSU also appealed to all segments of the Naga society to extend support to the demands put forth by ENPO rather than engaging in mutual blame. They emphasized the enduring bond of brotherhood among the Eastern Nagas and other Naga communities, affirming that this unity will persist for generations, regardless of the Government of India’s decision regarding the FNT.
The organizations also underscored the “importance of solidarity and collaboration among all Naga groups in advocating for their collective interests and aspirations, highlighting the need for a united front in addressing the challenges and concerns faced by the Naga people.”
