Noklak: Awareness programme on drug abuse held in ITC DAN

Shamator Battalion Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North)/7 Sector AR organised a lecture and awareness programme on the ill effects of drug abuse under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan of Government of India on 8 January.

The awareness programme was held at International Trade Centre (ITC) DAN village under Noklak district.

According to the organisers, it was conducted in order to address the pertinent issue of drug addiction which is emerging to be a serious concern especially among the younger generation and leading to dangerous consequences not just for drug user but within the family circle and the society at large.

Dr Hari Prasad, Senior Medical Officer, spoke on the issues of drug addiction. He also pointed out how DAN being an international border affects the district and its people.

Queries of the people were also clarified by the CMO during the programme.

The efforts of the team from the Company Operated Base (COB) DAN were appreciated by the locals and students.
