The Noklak District Level Students’ Science Fair Seminar and Exhibition 2023 was organised by the Directorate of School Education in collaboration with Samagra Shiksha, Nagaland and the Sub-Divisional Education Office Noklak was held at GHSS Noklak on Wednesday.
The competition was categorised into Science Fair Seminar under the theme “Millet – A Super Food or a Diet Fad” and Science Fair Exhibition under the theme “Science and Technology”.

19 students from 6 schools took part in the event. The participating schools were Government Higher Secondary School Noklak, Government High School Noklak Village, Government Middle School Nokyan, Holy Angel School Noklak, St. Paul School Noklak and Christian High School Noklak.
In the Seminar Competition, Pukoi of Christian High School bagged first, while Thym of GHS Noklak Village came in the second position and Supon of St Paul School in the third position.
During the seminar, the students highlighted the advantages of Millet, a kharif crop and one of the oldest crops domesticated in Asia and Africa. They described that millet is a source of proteins, high in fibre, rich in carbohydrates, loaded with micronutrients, gluten free, provide antioxidants, drought resistance and climate resilience, sustainable farming and guarantee economic security. Millet is the food of the future, one participant stated.
In the Science Exhibition (Individual Category), Pungom of GHS Noklak was declared first and Thatum of GHSS Noklak second. The Group Category was bagged by Chonglam C and Dimhao from St Paul School Noklak while Chimpe E and Pukho T of Christian High School came in the second place.
The students who won first position in all the categories will represent the District in the State Level Science Exhibition which will be held at Pfutsero, Phek on September 12.
