A Thanksgiving and Felicitation Programme was held for Member of Legislative Assembly from 56 Noklak A/C on Tuesday at Public Ground, Noklak Town. Longon had earlier served as minister for fifteen years and, after a gap of five years, contested and won the seat again representing Nationalist Congress Party at the Nagaland General election 2023.
The MLA and Chairman of Noklak District Planning and Development Board, in his speech, called for unity stating that Noklak has four Ranges, yet shares one kitchen. Stating that the fight is between good and evil, Longon advised the youths to speak the truth and further advised them to forgive each other for any harms caused during election. He also urged the gathering to play their own parts responsibly.

While stating that he stands on ‘transparency’, the MLA said that he looks forward to new style of functioning and treatment and assured that the party workers will be rewarded especially the youths. Longon also expressed his appreciation to his supporters for their dedication, adding that it was God who made it successful.
