Noklak: IEC activities held for Thonoknyu Block and Panso Block

Noklak: During the training, the ISA PHED Team visited Jal Jeevan Mission pre-implementing villages (yet to start), implementing villages (ongoing) and post-implementing villages (completed villages)

As a part of the ongoing Jal Jeevan Mission Awareness programme, village level IEC activities under Thonoknyu block and Panso Block in Noklak district were conducted from 19 to 30 November.

IEC – Information, Education & Communication – activities are carried out under the JJM programme to spread awareness on water quality and conservation issues.

The activities were carried out by the Implementing Support Agency, PHED Tuensang Division, Alongphi Welfare Society and PHED Tuensang Division and covered more than 18 villages.

During the training, the ISA PHED Team visited Jal Jeevan Mission pre-implementing villages (yet to start), implementing villages (ongoing) and post-implementing villages (completed villages).

The team highlighted the importance of community participation for the success of JJM in the villages, FHTC and source water conservation and safe drinking water quality, regular checking of water quality through Field Testing Kits (FTK), and operation and maintenance.

Handling of FTK field testing kits by the villages FTK user/Swachhagrahis and WATSAN Committee was also demonstrated by the ISA Team during the training.

The trainees were village council members, WATSAN committee members, swachhagrahis, ASHA worker and Anganwadi worker and church members.
