Noklak: New Sanglao Longding village inaugurated

Noklak: Advisor Khumo urged the Khiamniungan Tribal Council (KTC) and Sanglao village, the parent village, to act as guides towards the newly inaugurated village, New Sanglao Longding

New Sanglao Longding village in Noklak district was inaugurated today by L Khumo, advisor of Fisheries & Aquatic Resources, Evaluation, Economic and Statistics, Government of Nagaland.

The village, located 51km away from Noklak district headquarters, has a household number of 82.

Advisor Khumo urged the Khiamniungan Tribal Council (KTC) and Sanglao village, the parent village, to act as guides towards the newly inaugurated village, New Sanglao Longding. He also advised the Longding community to give more focus on education and to live in peaceful co- existence and unity with one another.

Khumo expressed his gratitude to the government and thanked God for paving ways for development. This is to uphold better livelihood, he added.

The advisor urged the leaders to strive towards good governance and embrace bravery despite the small sized population of the new village.

EAC Noklak Kathyinla acknowledged the government for giving recognition to the youngest village of Noklak. With the addition of New Sanglao Longding, she said the total number of villages in the district has become 39 thus far.

The EAC spoke on how the Government of Nagaland is trying to promote rural tourism, adding that the system today is getting reversed where people want to visit rural areas. She highlighted on how Noklak district has potential for tourism and informed that the state government has started a project called ‘Nagaland of Road.’

The president of the Khiamniungan Tribal Council (KTC), M Thango, congratulated the new village and said its addition has made the district wider and brought more glory to its people. Thango said the village would continue to live on despite the change of leaders.

C Khunyo, head GB of Sanglao village, asserted that the village would live with no fear but peace from this day on.

S Tunyu, GB president, Thonoknyu Area GBs, expressed his concern for the youths, stating that consumption of intoxicants should be stopped for the sake of the wellbeing of the village.

Hundreds of people gathered to witness the birth of New Sanglao Longding village whereby a cultural dance was performed by Cultural Club of Sanglao village.
