The Assam Rifles Shamator Battalion organised a friendly volleyball tournament at ITC Dan village on 29 and 30 January in continuation with PM activities.
The tournament was held with the participation of local youths, aged between 15 to 20 years, of the Assam Rifles, IRB, ITC Dan, Upper Dan, Old Pangsha, and New Pangsha villages. A total of seven teams participated from these villages.
The organisers were assisted with administrative support along with essential sports items.

The tournament was organised with an aim to inculcate constructive thinking, positive attitude and willingness towards strong nation building in the local youths.
The initiative of the Shamator Battalion was well appreciated by the local populace who due to their remoteness, lack the necessary platform and exposure, informed the organisers.
The event commenced with a speech by the Coy Cdr ITC Dan COB, 14 Assam Rifles, in which he briefed the youths about the importance of sports in life.
Old Pangsha Team were the winners of the tournament.
