Noklak Police conducts seminar on Cybercrimes

Noklak Police conducted a seminar on cybercrimes under the theme “Cyber Jagrookta Divas 2022”.

Noklak Police with the officer in-charge of Noklak, Thonoknyu and Panso Police Station conducted a seminar on cybercrimes under the theme “Cyber Jagrookta Divas 2022” at respective schools, while SP Noklak Pritpal Kaur took the initiation at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) hostel Noklak on 20 October.

During the seminar, school students were made aware about the various forms of cybercrimes including bank fraud, sextortion, identify theft, impersonation, Cyberstalking, hacking, vishing, Nigerian fraud, phishing and cyber bullying. Guidance on the right ways of using social media and misuses of social media platform were also discussed.

Given the increasing number in cybercrime reports in recent years and criminal activities being perpetrated on social networking sites, the seminar was conducted with the aim of spreading awareness and inculcating in school students, the need to be vigilant and careful while using such platforms.

Noklak Police hopes that the sessions will help in preventing cybercrimes and people from becoming victims of cheating and fraud.
