Noklak: School students participate in Unity Run to celebrate birth anniversary of Sardar Patel

Noklak: Around 200 students participated in the Unity Run under the initiation of Government Higher Secondary School, Noklak

Educational institutions in Noklak registered under the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSC) organised a Unity Run today in commemoration of the birth of the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel.

Beginning the run from the Welcome Gate to Public Ground, a distance of half a kilometre, around 200 students participated in the Unity Run under the initiation of Government Higher Secondary School, Noklak.

Latsamong, Physical Training (PT) teacher, led the run.

Since 2014, ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ or National Unity Day has been observed by the central government to reaffirm its dedication to strengthen the unity, integrity and the security of the nation.

Patel was the first home minister and deputy prime minister of India and played an important role in the nation’s movement for independence. Through him, over 560 princely states were integrated into the Union of India.
