P. Longon, Member of Nagaland Legislative Assembly and Chairman of Noklak District Planning and Development Board, inaugurated Noklak Village’s new log drum on 19 April 2023.

A fully carved log drum measuring 30 feet in length and 4 feet in breadth was successfully brought to its home despite of various challenges. The complete process of making and pulling the Log Drum involved 926 men starting from Shangnyu village of Mon district to Noklak Village. It took 19 days for carving and other major works related to the Log Drum, while it took two days to pull it to its destination.

The villagers informed that a log drum could be brought to Noklak Village after many years.  MLA P. Longon also inaugurated Noklak village gate on the same day.
