Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs and Petroleum & Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri inaugurating the Multi-Level Car Parking (MLCP) at NST Bus Station, Kohima said that Northeast and Nagaland occupy a very special place in the heart of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“Northeast is of a very high priority and Nagaland is the highest priority. Anything we can do from all the central schemes, whether it is a larger capital intensive projects or small action. I want to assure you that we are ready to stand with you,” said the Union Minister.

Highlighting the developmental achievements under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said that the 350 bedded state of the art Multi Speciality Hospital built by ONGC at Sivasagar Assam is now functional and will not only cater to the adjoining 10-12 districts of Assam but to all the Northeast states.
He said that since May 2014 when PM Modi assumed the office, 300 ministerial visits have taken place in the Northeast and 76 individual Minister have visited.
Mentioning that all the PM schemes are women-centred, Puri said, a total of 53 lakh street vendors have benefited from SVANidi Scheme across the country and an amount of Rs 9700 crore rupees have been disbursed.
“All the PM’s schemes such as sanitation scheme, Swachh Bharat- building toilet, etc are all women centric development. 73 percent of PM Awas Yojana are women. In Ujwala, 9 crore 60 lakh cylinders have be given out,” he said.
On this line Puri also said that with Women Reservation Bill, now there will be women led development.
“In days to come not only for the 33 percent women reservation, but we will see our women, daughters join the political process. I can say that in other parts of the country which has such kind of women reservation, their GDP also goes up,” the Union Minister added
He exuded hope that women in Nagaland and Northeast at large will take advantage of the women reservation bill when it becomes operational after the next census and delimitation.
The MLCP at NST Bus Station consist a total floor area of 95,000 sq. ft having G+6 floors. There are six bus bays for NST buses in ground floor. There are five floors for car parking having a capacity of 125 cars and more than 50 two wheelers. The building also include public toilets in all the floors, proper washroom for PwDs at ground floor while automated boom barriers are installed for entry/exit and CCTVs in all the floors for security and surveillance purposes. Fire fighting and emergency response facilities have also been installed in all the floors. Further, epoxy car deck flooring is provided in all the floors as well as lift facility in all the floors.
