NPCC approves 16 candidates for ULB elections

Kohima: 50% of individuals seeking Congress ticket women, says NPCC President

The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has announced the names of 16 candidates for the forthcoming elections to the Municipal and Town Council to be conducted in the State on 26th June 2024.

Earlier on Sunday, addressing a press conference, NPCC President S Supongmeren Jamir and AICC In charge Nagaland Girish Chodankar had confirmed that the Congress Party would contest in the ULB polls. Jamir had expressed happiness that 50% of the individuals seeking the Congress ticket were women. Chodankar had also said that the Party would give preference to women and youth to be part of the new local councils.

The 16 names released are:

Mokokchung

T. Nungshitemjen Jamir (15-MMC Yimyu Ward); Yongkongsangka (4-Artang Ward); Bendangienla (9-Majakong Ward); Rongsenlemla Jamir (16-Marepkong Ward)

Wokha

Thungchanbemo Lotha (12-Zuvotong Colony); Konthunglo Ovung (01-Ethung Ward)

Peren

Namgwang (1-Jalukie Town); Neikrahube (02-Keletzai Ward); Ngamdatbou (03-Jalukie Town)

Dimapur

Apale Thopi (4-Dimapur); Akhu Kath (21-Dimapur); Akokla Pongen Lucy (13-Dimapur); Inokali Wotsa (9-Dimapur)

Chümoukedima

Kedingunuo Sechü (4-Chumu-Town Council); Pretso Therie (11-Chümoukedima)

Zunheboto

Ananu S Zhimo (3-Laghilato Colony)
