The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) and Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) and President of NPCC, S Supongmeren Jamir have congratulated Hokato Hotozhe Sema for securing the Bronze Medal for India in the Shot Put F57 category at the Paris Paralympic Games 2024.
In a press release, the NPCC said commended the para-athlete for becoming creating history in first sportsperson from Nagaland to ever win a medal at either the Olympics or the Paralympics and for bringing pride to the people of the State and the Nation.
“Your tenacity, dedication, and unbeatable spirit is an inspiration to all, especially the youth, and serves as another reminder to the centrality of hard work and determination on the path to success,” it stated.
Wishing the Paralympian success in all his future endeavours, the NPCC hoped that this victory will pave the way for many more Naga athletes “to follow in your footsteps and shine in the world of Competitive Sports, both in the Domestic as well as International arenas.”
MP S Supongmeren Jamir said that Hokato Hotozhe Sema’s “dedication, perseverance, and hard work have earned you this prestigious medal but have also made you a shining example of what can be accomplished with determination.”
Jamir said that the Paralympian’s success on the global stage serves as an inspiration to countless individuals, proving that challenges can be overcome with the right spirit.
He also added that Nagaland is celebrating this outstanding achievement and wished the para-athlete continued success and more victories ahead.
