NPCC Public Grievances Cell has urged the Government of Nagaland to give priority to recruitment of medical staff as per the Personnel & Administrative Reforms (P&AR) rules and deploy them at the earliest.
In a press release, the Public Grievances Cell of the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee, stated that the aggrieved student associations and doctors were willing to withdraw their court case against the department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland with regard to the special recruitment drive if the department go as per the P&AR rules and nullify the order dated 2nd November 2022.

The team highlighted that on 23 June 2020, there was a post creation of 186 post – 15 post of Specialist, 44 Medical Officers, 11 Ayush Medical Officers, 3 Dental Sergeant, 6 Research Scientist, 78 staff nurses, 6 Lab technicians, 10 ECG technician, 13 OT Technicians.
Later, DHFW advertised 195 post vacancies through order No. HWF(A) COVID-19/ APPT 13/17/2020 which included post creation and existing vacancies with a clear notice that those appointments will be temporary until filled through NPSC.
Then, the department on 2 November 2022, again came up with a special recruitment drive, for 329 posts through the approval of the cabinet-vide No. CAB/2013, dated 26th June 2022, where 175 marks out of 487.5 were to be awarded to those employees who were working on contracts, depriving the other aspirants from free and fair examination/ by passing the rule led down by P&AR rules, the NPCC Grievances Cell added.
Subsequently, the aggrieved associations and doctors from dental and Ayush branches filed a petition with the court against the order “which clearly resembles a sign of favouritism and nepotism”, the Congress informed.
The NPCC PGC has appealed for the government’s immediate intervention and asked that it does not to “compromise with the precious lives and health of Naga Citizens”.
