NPF MLA Achumbemo Kikon: Integration is the birth right of the Naga people

Kohima: Kikon pointed out that there is not a single mention in the Governor’s speech regarding integration of Naga homeland

While participating in the discussion on the motion of thanks to the governor’s address on Thursday, NPF MLA Achumbemo Kikon asserted that the main objective of NPF is to bring about an honourable, acceptable and inclusive solution to the Naga political issue.

Kikon pointed out that there is not a single mention in the Governor’s speech regarding integration of Naga homeland.

Stating this, he said NPF believes in shared Naga homeland which is a part of the party manifesto and constitution that integration is the birth right of the Naga people.

He added that Naga people have been divided without their consent and knowledge.

Kikon also emphasised on the dire need to actively pursue an honourable, acceptable and inclusive solution to the Naga Political issue and persist with the Central Government as an early solution was not just beneficial for the interests of the Naga People but also for the centre, as it would pave way for the development of the entire North Eastern Region.

Nagaland Governor La Ganesan delivered his customary address on the second day of the first session of the 14th Nagaland state legislative assembly where he had stated that the decades long unresolved Indo Naga political issue, has impacted every sphere of the society, and created hurdles, especially to the economy and the progress of the state. The smooth march of the State on the path of development and prosperity has been affected, he added.
