The oath-taking ceremony of the Naga People’s Front (NPF) 39 Sanis Assembly Constituency (AC) under Wokha district was administered by Meribemo Kinghen, president of NPF Wokha division, on Monday at the Multi-purpose Hall, Sanis. The event was graced by Mhathung Yanthan, MLA 39 AC, and advisor for Agriculture, Government of Nagaland.
Extending advance Christmas greetings to party workers of Wokha district and 39 AC, Yanthan congratulated them and urged members to diligently uphold their oath and commitment to the party without differences. He explained that the decision to join the NPF fold was to strengthen unity under a single regional party rather than multiple regional parties, thereby reinforcing the ideology of the long-standing Naga political negotiations.
Yanthan described NPF as a well-structured political party that embodies the aspirations of the Naga people. He encouraged party workers to perform their duties at the grassroots level, beginning from village booth committees, and reminded them to foster a sense of belonging by enrolling in NPF membership. He further emphasized educating the public on the transition from NDPP to NPF.
Highlighting the merger of NDPP with NPF, Yanthan said it was aimed at strengthening the Indo-Naga political talks, adding that there was no fear of losing power or facing allegations under NDPP. He reminded party workers that responsibility, not seniority, defines their role in the party.
He cautioned that changes in alignment or leadership should not undermine the party but rather reflect dedication and loyalty.

The programme was chaired by Echungbemo Ovung, secretary of NPF Wokha division, and concluded with a vote of thanks by John Yanthan, working president of NPF Wokha division.
