The National People’s Party (NPP) Nagaland has expressed deep concern over the prolonged stalemate surrounding the IAS induction issue, which has disrupted government functioning and caused hardship to the general public.
In a press release issued by its Media and IPR Cell, the Party stated that the ongoing pen-down strike and agitation by various service associations under the banner of the Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) have brought several administrative services to a standstill, directly affecting citizens who depend on these essential services on a daily basis.
The NPP acknowledged the efforts of both the State Government and the JCC to engage in dialogue and explore avenues for resolving the matter. It also appreciated the initiative taken by the Office of the Chief Secretary in convening meetings to facilitate discussions between the Government and representatives of the JCC.
However, the Party appealed to the State Government to take decisive and compassionate steps to resolve the issue at the earliest, in order to restore public confidence and ensure that normal services are resumed without further delay.
The NPP observed that while the issue may be complex, it can be resolved through sincere dialogue, transparency, and mutual respect. “It is in the interest of all stakeholders—government, employees, and the public—that an amicable solution is achieved without prolonging the hardship faced by the people,” it stated, adding that the present impasse has not only affected governance but also slowed down development and service delivery across departments.

Urging both parties to continue constructive engagement and rise above differences for the greater good of the State, the NPP expressed confidence that the Government through wisdom, empathy and goodwill, would take a balanced and just decision that upholds meritocracy while addressing genuine grievances in a fair and transparent manner.
Reaffirming its faith in democratic dialogue and good governance, the NPP Nagaland called upon all concerned to work towards restoring normalcy in the interest of the people of Nagaland.
