The National People’s Party, Phek District has urged the National Highway & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) to immediately terminate the contract for Kohima-Jessami Road Package –II as recommended by the Project Monitoring Group (PMG), Phek district and call for a fresh tender without any further delay.
The Party cited that despite of Besides several requests being made by various organizations and individuals regarding the impending rock fall between Chakhabama and Kikruma near Sedzü River, “the contractor M/S Ratna Infra Projects Pvt. Ltd has not paid any heed to the request of the public which is a total disrespect and insult to the public”.
The NPP has mentioned that the impending rock fall in the stretch is “posing a death threat to the commuters” and besides, the entire stretch of Kohima-Jessami Road Package-II is in its worst condition and the public was suffering greatly.
“The public have been silently bearing all inconveniences and are patiently waiting for the completion of this project however now the terrible road condition and total negligence by the contractor has gone beyond the level of limit for the people to tolerate,” the NPP stated.
