The National People’s Youth Front (NPYF), Dimapur District has appealed to the State Government to include Dimapur district in the piloted “Pink Scooty” scheme aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs.

While appreciating the initiative of the Government to launch the scheme in selected districts—Kohima,

Mokokchung, and Chümoukedima—NPYF Dimapur expressed concern over the exclusion of Dimapur, which is one of the largest commercial hubs of Nagaland and home to a significant number of aspiring women entrepreneurs.

In a statement, the NPYF stated that Dimapur district offers immense potential for the success of such a scheme, given its strategic location, economic activity, and growing entrepreneurial ecosystem. “Inclusion of Dimapur would not only ensure equitable distribution of government initiatives but also significantly boost women-led businesses and livelihood opportunities in the district,” it added.

NPYF Dimapur believed that extending the scheme to Dimapur would amplify the impact of the government’s vision for women empowerment and inclusive development across Nagaland.
