In a big move the NSCN/GPRN-K Khango Konyak faction has impeached it General Secretary Col (Retd) Isak Sumi on Wednesday.

Isak Sumi was holding the post of General Secretary (Ato Kilonser) and representing the faction as one of the co-convenors in the Naga National Political Group’s Working Committee (NNPGs WC).

In an order issued by the faction states as per party discipline, Sumi has been found guilty under three conditions, the foremost being “absolute control of power and functions without collective leadership, non-distribution of power and functions, exposing a one-man-government policy, which is completely in violation of the Party Yehzabo (Constitution) and discipline”.

The NSCN-K had given a stern warning to Sumi last year based on the same reasons.

Sumi has been discharged from all his power and duties and shall no longer be a member of NSCN/GPRN-K and the organization shall not be responsible for any of his actions hereafter, the order read.

A highly placed source informed that all arms under his possession have been seized.

It also said that the faction will function as it is under the leadership of its president Khango Konyak.

The NSCN/GPRN-K president Khango Konyak has written today to the NNPGs Working Committee Convenor Kitovi Zhimomi to relinquish Isak Sumi from the post of co-convenor with immediate effect. The letter stated that the NSCN-K (Khango) would nominate a member soon to represent the faction as co-convenor.
