The NSCN/GPRN today issued a statement refuting a news item that was published on March 1 in an obscure website called ‘bnn’ on a supposed stand off between NSCN (IM) cadres and Assam rifles.

“Out of context one media person Dil Bar Irshad recklessly published a news story “Tense Stand-off in Dimapur: NSCN(IM)cadres and Assam Rifles Faceoff Near Patkai College. It was dated 01 March 2024 08:26 EST,” stated the Ministry of Information and Publicity (MIP).

“No wonder this incident happened more than one decade ago and for no reason this none-existing standoff was made to go viral. It is highly unethical for media persons to sensationalize news report that doesn’t exist at all. NSCN holds no responsibility for such baseless news-viral,” added the statement.
