NSCN-IM leaders resolve to ‘stand upright and united’ to support Framework Agreement

Dimapur: NSCN-IM Parliamentarians Gather at Hotel Saramati, Dimapur, to Discuss Path Towards an Honourable Naga Political Solution

The Eastern Naga National Workers Union (ENNWU) of NSCN-IM conducted a “Consultative Meeting of Parliamentarians” (Kilonsers, Deputy Kilonsers and Tatars) on 19 July 2023 at Hotel Saramati “to have a look at the Naga political issue”, a press release from MIP, NSCN/GPRN informed.

The meeting aimed to emphasize “Unity in Diversity” as the key theme and provide a platform for discussions on the way forward for an honourable Naga political solution. The meeting culminated in a significant resolution adopted by the leaders of NSCN-IM, emphasising the need to “stand upright and united to keep on supporting the historic Framework Agreement of the 3rd August 2015.”

This resolution reflects the commitment of NSCN-IM leaders to work collectively towards a comprehensive and respectful solution to the Naga political issue, the statement said.

Earlier in the meeting. the keynote address was delivered by Maj. Retd. Kewe Mero, Kilo Kilonser, GPRN, who set the tone for the discussions ahead. Capt. Retd. Samson Jajo, Kilonser, MIP, followed with a short but impactful speech.

Key insights into the Naga political issue were provided through speeches by prominent leaders such as Rev. A. Puni, Member, Collective Leadership, NSCN, and. Angnaikham Makunga, Member, Collective Leadership, NSCN. Their thoughtful perspectives shed light on the present challenges and opportunities, urging the members, especially those within the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO), to persevere with determination and courage to fulfil the political aspirations upon which NSCN was founded, the press release stated.
