The National Socialist Council of Nagalim – IM (NSCN-IM) has that the Government of India’s “Deceit” since the day the Indo-Naga political dialogue started in 1997, is the reason behind the unresolved Naga political solution.

Citing the case of Alemla Jamir, Kilonser, NSCN-IM, who was again denied bail by Delhi High Court on 13 January 2025 in the alleged terror funding case, the group slammed the Indian Government recklessly using the term “Terrorist outfit” to refer to it which it said is against the spirit of Memorandum of Understanding, dated 18th November, 2002, Milan, Italy. This MOU signified the conscious decision of the Government of India to discontinue the ban on the NSCN under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, it added.

In a press statement, the NSCN-IM said, “Government of India failed to act to respect the MOU, and rather, continues to mishandle the case of Kilonser Alemla Jamir, a “Prisoner of War” (POW) as per international law, by treating her unfairly and unjustly by linking her as a hardcore member of the misplaced “terrorist outfit” forcing her incarcerate in the jail for the past more than four years.”

If Government of India is courageous enough to solve Indo-Naga Political issue, the acts of deceit should have been kept at a distance, the NSCN-IM stated.
