NSCN-Reformation (Akato Chophy) has said that it is “well resourced and copiously equipped” to retaliate any “sinister act” of adversaries and outside forces. This statement follows reports of death of its chairman of Konyak region after four NSCN-R (Akato) cadres were allegedly held by NSCN-IM in Tizit, Mon district.
The press release issued by Ministry of Information & Publicity, NSCN-R (Akato) disclosed that the deceased was “the incumbent Chairman Late Temzei Konyak (Dy.Kilonser)” while the other three missing cadres were Honchai Konyak (Tatar), Talem Konyak (Leacy) and Captain Wanglem Konyak.
The group stated that its missing cadres are presumably dead too.

NSCN-R (Akato) maintained that the four men were ‘unreasonably abducted and tortured’ by NSCN-IM at Lapalampong village under Tizit Area whilst they were on their way to meet members of the Konyak Union
“This outrageous and disparaging act that had cost precious lives is a direct challenge towards the integrity of the NSCN who, meanwhile in all true sense are trying very hard to upholding the resolution passed by the ENPO, KU and other NGOs asking all NPGs to avoid factional clashes, and for which would maintain zero tolerance and not cooperate with any NPG going against this peaceful venture,” the press release stated.
The group further stated that it is now for Eastern Naga People’s Organisation, KU and other civil society organisations to initiate action against NSCN-IM for the crime and for disturbing “the present peaceful qualm, tranquil aura and blissful serenity”.
At the same time, NSCN-R (Akato) asserted that though it “will never spill the first blood”, any threat, intimidation or provoking attack will be “met with head-on collision, backed by unfathomable and aggressive stance for restitution and redressal, at any cost.”
