NSF condemns killing of student in Dimapur, demands befitting punishment for culprit

The Naga Students’ Federation has condemned the ‘brutal killing’ of late Supou P, who died of gunshot injuries in a private hospital in Dimapur around midnight of 8 May 2023.

‘Such inhumane and diabolical act negates the very aspiration of the general populace for peaceful living and ought to be out rightly condemned by all right thinking citizens,’ NSF stated.

The deceased, who belong to the Khiamniungan community, was suspected of being shot by her boyfriend who is a cadre in NSCN -Khango group. Police have arrested the suspect and his bodyguard.

While extending sympathy to the bereaved family members, NSF appealed to the law enforcement agencies to leave no stone unturned and to ensure that befitting punishment is awarded to the culprit at the earliest.

The Federation also appealed for ‘peace and unity in all the Naga inhabited areas among various stakeholders, CSOs and individuals as we continue to press forward in strengthened cooperation in days to come while also sparing no efforts to uproot those elements and practices which are against the social and economic progress of our people.’
