NSF condemns snatching of student leader’s vehicle by armed men in Manipur’s Kakching district

Kohima: NSF urges law enforcement agencies to expedite case and swiftly identify and apprehend perpetrators

The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF), on Tuesday, condemned an incident that occurred at Kakching district of Manipur on 31st December 2023 where three men forcibly took a vehicle from its owner at gunpoint. The Federation revealed that the owner of the vehicle and victim of the act is the President of Lamkang Students’ Union under Chandel district in Manipur.

The NSF also alleged that the persons who snatched the car and endangered the student leader’s life were members of the Meitei vigilante group Arambai Tengol.

The act of violence and disregard for well-being of the citizens is absolutely unacceptable and will not be tolerated, the NSF condemned. It also urged the law enforcement agencies to expedite the case and employ all available resources to identify and apprehend the perpetrators swiftly. The Federation further encouraged community members to come forward with any information that may assist in the investigation.

It affirmed its commitment to fostering a safe environment where everyone can live, work and thrive without fear. The Federation firmly believes in the importance of maintaining safe and secure environment for all residents, this incident serves as a stark of need for increased vigilance and collaborative efforts to combat such heinous acts, NSF stated in its press release.
