The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has condoled the passing of N. Ghoshito Achumi, the first president of Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU).

In a letter, the NSF stated that Lt. N. Ghoshito Achumi’s contributions to the student community and to the broader Naga society are immeasurable. “His leadership, dedication, and unwavering commitment to the welfare of students have left an indelible mark on our collective consciousness. His journey, from serving as the General Secretary of the Dimapur Government College Students’ Council to becoming the founding President of DNSU in 1977, exemplifies his passion for advocating for the rights and aspirations of Naga youth,” stated the NSF.

“As we reflect on his life and legacy, we are reminded of his vision and pioneering spirit, which continue to inspire generations of students to strive for excellence and to stand up for justice,” the Federation further added. It also noted that the tireless efforts in championing the cause of education and empowerment contributed by Achumi, have left a lasting impact on the community.

The Federation wished solace to the family, adding, “Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family as you navigate through this period of grief and loss. May his soul rest in eternal peace.”
