In view of the expiry of its ultimatum served to the state government of regarding the regularization of Medical Officers and other health workers appointed during the COVID-19 pandemic, which it termed “arbitrary and unconstitutional”, the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has on Wednesday convened an emergency presidential council meeting to be held on February 7, 12 noon at its office headquarters in Kohima.
All presidents of the concerned federating units and subordinate bodies of the NSF have been requested to attend the meeting.

In a release, the NSF stated that the meeting is being convened to collectively deliberate and take an appropriate course of action in light of the state government’s continued disregard of the resolutions adopted during the emergency presidential council meeting of the NSF on 17th September 2025; and the ultimatum issued to the state government vide NSF communication dated 20th December 2025 regarding the illegal regularization of COVID-19 appointees in violation of the constitutional mandate of the Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) and the Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB).
“Given the seriousness of the issue and its far-reaching implications for the future of Naga youth and the sanctity of merit-based recruitment, the presence of all concerned units is requested without fail,” the release said, adding that the house shall take stock of the prevailing situation and decide upon further democratic measures deemed necessary.
