NSF delegation calls on Governor; highlights concern on proxy teachers, AFSPA

Kohima: Governor appreciates NSF’s proactive approach in reaching out for discussion

A delegation from the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF), led by its President Medovi Rhi, called on the Governor of Nagaland, La Ganesan, on Tuesday to discuss on pressing issues affecting the state of Nagaland.

During the meeting, the NSF team presented a comprehensive briefing to the Governor, highlighting a range of critical concerns currently impacting Nagaland. The discussion delved deep into several key subjects, including proxy teachers, educational reforms, influx of Illegal immigrants and effective implementation of Inner Line permits and lifting of Armed Forces special Powers Act (AFSPA).

The delegation brought to the Governor’s attention the ongoing challenges related to proxy teachers within the educational system, emphasizing the need for prompt corrective measures to ensure the quality of education in Nagaland.

Educational Reforms: The NSF officials discussed the urgent necessity of educational reforms in Nagaland, aiming to improve the overall quality of education and provide enhanced opportunities for students in the state.

Influx of Illegal Immigrants and effective implementation of ILP: The issue of an influx of illegal immigrants into Nagaland and the effective implementation of ILP was another crucial topic addressed by the NSF team. They underscored the importance of maintaining the cultural and demographic integrity of the state.

Lifting of AFSPA: The Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA) was a subject of extensive deliberation. The NSF expressed the collective aspiration of the Naga people for removal of AFSPA to foster a climate of peace and normalcy in Nagaland.

The Governor La Ganesan, attentively listened to the concerns put forth by the NSF delegation. He assured the team that he would take a closer look into the matters raised during the meeting. The Governor also appreciated NSF’s proactive approach in reaching out to the Governor’s office for these crucial discussions.
