The Naga Students’ Federation, on Tuesday, lauded the NNPGs and the NSCN for declaring “unconditional commitment” for the Naga political resolution with Government of India.

On 14th January 2023, the Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs) and the National Socialist Council of Nagalim-Isak Muivah (NSCN-IM) issued a joint statement where they declared “unconditional commitment to collaborate on the basis of our respective agreements, with immediate effect, for the resolution of the Naga historical and political rights with the Government of India”.

The NSF in its statement said that this renewed dedication was in furtherance of the ‘September Joint Accordant’ which paved the way for the formation of ‘Council of Naga Relationships and cooperation’.

The federation also stated that the reaffirmation is a “booster” to the Naga unity “to shed our differences and ceaselessly work towards ensuring that lasting peace”.

NSF also expressed its disappointment at the “continued delay tactics” by the Indian Government in sealing the negotiation and demanded it to exhibit “utmost sincerity and commitment in the negotiation process” to ensure that an inclusive, honourable and acceptable solution is brought about “without any further delay”.

It also reiterated that it will never accept a “forced solution” and that “the impending negotiated solution should ensure that the dignity and rights of every single Naga soul is respected and upheld.”

The NSF, while extending its New Year’s greetings, further appealed to the Naga people to be mindful of “individuals publicly indulging in rhetoric” with relation to the Indo-Naga political issue.

“We have to zealously guard our cause which is legitimate, just, fair and righteous from the lure of these individuals, tirelessly scheming with our adversaries, to undermine it”, it cautioned.
