The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has expressed deep shocked and sadness over the deaths of Themmaso Tallanao, President of the Tangkhul Mayar Ngala Long-TMNL (Tangkhul Youth

Council), and Masothing, Assistant General Secretary, TMNL, on 24th October 2024.

The NSF informed in its condolence message that the youth leaders tragically lost their lives following a fatal accident near the Indo-Myanmar border, at Kamjong areas, Ukhrul District while fulfilling their duty as part of the NSF Reconnaissance Mission to Ukhrul and Chandel, to assess the implications of the abrogation of the Free Movement Regime.

“Their commitment and dedication to the cause of the Naga people in this perilous endeavor are a testament to their courage and deep sense of responsibility,” the Federation stated.

The student body mourned their “irreplaceable loss” and stated that their contributions to the Naga cause will forever be remembered. “Their passing leaves a void that words cannot fill, but their legacy will continue to inspire the Naga youth and the broader Naga community in our collective pursuit of justice, peace, and sovereignty,” it added.

While extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, the Tangkhul community, and all those impacted by the tragic incident, the NSF also prayed for God’s strength and solace.

“As we grieve, we stand united in our resolve to carry forward the cause for which Eno. Themmaso Tallanao and Eno. Masothing gave their all, keeping their memories alive in our hearts and actions,” the Federation affirmed.
