The Naga Students Federation (NSF), a component unit of North East Students Organisation (NESO), an apex body of eight student associations from seven northeastern states, held a candlelight vigil outside the NSF headquarter at the Naga Club building on Wednesday evening.
The candlelight vigil is being held in all state capitals of the northeast in solidarity with the people of Manipur.

NESO Chairman Samuel B. Jyrwa while condemning the ongoing violence in Manipur following a meeting on 22 June in Guwahati, the NESO chairman said that candlelight vigils would be held in all state capitals of the northeastern states on June 28 to express solidarity with the distressed people of Manipur. The NESO also accused the Centre and the Manipur Government of failing to tackle the situation and has called for immediate steps to restore normalcy in strife-torn Manipur.
During the candle light vigil the participants also observed one minute silence for peace in Manipur.
