NSF observes Naga National Flag Hoisting Day at Parashen

Tseminyu: Parashen is the place where the first Naga national flag was hoisted on 22 March in 1956

The Naga Students’ Federation held a symbolic prayer programme on 22 March 2023 at Parashen, Rengma Region to commemorate Naga National Flag Hoisting Day.

Parashen is the place where the first Naga national flag was hoisted on this day in 1956.

NSF President, Kegwayhun Tep hoisted the Naga National Flag and delivered a brief message on the significance of the event.

A minute of silence was observed in honour of the past leaders who contributed and sacrificed towards the cause of the Naga people. Subsequently, short messages were delivered by Atilo Kent, Vice President Rengma Selo Zi and Ajo Tsela, President Rengma Students’ Union and culminated with a mass prayer.

The programme was attended by NSF officials, senior leaders of NSF along with officials from various federating units of NSF and representatives from Rengma Selo Zi.

Earlier, Benjong Longchar, NSF Secretary of Social & Culture, chaired the programme and invocation prayer was led by Rite Khutsoh, former Speaker NSF.
