NSF urges student community to body to plant at least one tree sapling on World Environment Day

Kohima: Collective efforts can make significant impact in preserving ecological balance of our region: NSF

The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has encouraged every student, federating units and sub-ordinate bodies to plant at least one tree sapling on World Environment Day which falls on 5th June 2024.  Emphasizing the importance of environmental conservation and sustainability, the Federation also advocate other activities including: Clean-up Drives, Awareness Campaigns, Workshops and Seminars, and other activities on environmental issues.

NSF President Medovi Rhi and General Secretary Chumben Khuvung stated in a press release that this year’s theme, “Land Restoration, Desertification and Drought Resilience, underscores the critical need for individual and collective actions to protect and rejuvenate our natural environment”.

Reaffirming its commitment to the environment and to fostering a greener future, the Federation urged every member of the student community to take part in meaningful activities especially, planting of saplings.

“This simple yet impactful act not only contributes to reforestation efforts but also symbolizes our dedication to nurturing the environment for future generations”, NSF stated while adding that “these collective efforts will not only enhance our immediate surroundings but also contribute to global environmental health.” Together, we can make a significant impact in preserving the natural beauty and ecological balance of our region, it said.
